Blowing Rock, similar to Boone, is a popular tourist location for out-of-town visitors. People from as far as Florida come to escape the heat to feel cool mountain breezes. Mom & Pop shops and local eateries make this town one-of-a-kind. Legend has it that wind blew a person up the side of the mountain after falling off the edge (folklore, of course).
